Age Requirements
Renters must be at least 21 years old and present a major credit card. The minimum age to rent convertibles, SUVs, and standard passenger vans is 21. Renters must be at least 25 years old to rent a 12- or 15-passenger van.
Airport Shuttle Service
After arriving at John Wayne Airport (SNA), proceed to the Ground Transportation Center (GTC) and call (844) 408-0400 or (949) 251-0202 for pickup.
Our office is approximately one mile from the airport, and the shuttle generally arrives within 5–7 minutes. Look for the shuttle marked SNA AUTO RENTAL.
Rental Requirements
At the time of rental, every renter and authorized driver must present:
- A valid driver’s license
- A major credit or eligible debit card
- A valid passport when using an international driver’s license
U.S., Canadian, and international driver’s licenses are accepted. Additional restrictions may apply to debit-card rentals.
Mileage Allowance
- Cars: 200 free miles per day or 1,400 free miles per week
- SUVs: 200 free miles per day or 1,400 free miles per week
- Vans: 250 free miles per day or 1,750 free miles per week
- Convertibles: 200 free miles per day or 1,400 free miles per week
Additional mileage charges may apply when the included mileage allowance is exceeded.
Rental Period and Grace Period
A rental day is a 24-hour period beginning on the pickup date and at the pickup time shown on the Rental Agreement.
A 59-minute grace period is provided for returns. After the grace period, an hourly charge equal to one-third of the applicable daily rate may apply. A full additional day may be charged when the vehicle is returned three or more hours late.
Monthly Rentals
A monthly rental consists of 28 consecutive days, or four weeks.
Payment
We accept American Express, Discover, Mastercard, Visa, and eligible debit cards. Prepaid cards, virtual cards, prepaid credit cards, and debit cards connected exclusively to online banking accounts are not accepted.
Credit cards: A security authorization of $300 above the estimated rental charges will be placed on the card. Any unused amount will be released after the vehicle is returned and the rental agreement is closed.
Debit cards: The rental amount plus a $400 security deposit will be charged to the card. Any unused deposit will be refunded after the vehicle is returned and the rental agreement is closed. Additional restrictions may apply.
The time required for a released authorization or refund to appear in your account is determined by your bank or card issuer.
Cancellation Policy
Reservations may be canceled without a rental charge at least 72 hours before the scheduled pickup time. Cancellations made within 72 hours of the scheduled pickup time may be charged one day’s rental rate.
Insurance and Optional Protection
Rental Liability Insurance (RLI): Optional Rental Liability Insurance may provide primary coverage for third-party bodily injury and property-damage claims, up to the applicable financial-responsibility limits. Coverage is subject to the terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions of the policy and Rental Agreement. RLI does not cover every situation that may arise while operating a rental vehicle.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): For an additional daily charge, CDW may reduce or waive the renter’s financial responsibility for covered loss or damage to the rental vehicle. CDW is not insurance and remains subject to the terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions of the Rental Agreement. Prohibited use or violation of the Rental Agreement may void the waiver.
Optional Equipment
Child and booster seats: Child and booster seats are available for $10 per day, subject to availability. Renters are responsible for selecting and correctly installing the appropriate child-restraint equipment. Cleaning, repair, or replacement charges may apply if equipment is returned excessively dirty, damaged, or missing.
GPS units: GPS navigation units are available for $4.99 per day, subject to availability. Please request optional equipment when making your reservation.
Additional Drivers
Up to three additional drivers may be added at no charge. Every additional driver must meet our rental requirements, present a valid driver’s license, and be listed on the Rental Agreement before operating the vehicle.
Geographic Restrictions
Rental vehicles may only be operated in California, Nevada, and Arizona. Vehicles may not be driven into Mexico under any circumstances.
